NOS Mullard Tubes…
10.23.08

Currently we have 2 Amperex labeled Mullard made 12ax7’s for sale right now. These have very closely balanced sides and are actually a matching pair. Both made in the famous Mullard Blackburn factory.
Call or email for pricing! (I say that because people seem to be getting up to $130 a tube for these things and I’m not selling them for that. That’s a lot of cash for glass!)
Fixed the digital camera… And Jeremy made another Keyboard Speaker Cab for Zia from the Dandy Warhols…
10.20.08

I completely took it apart and cleaned out the lens. Now it works! Trust me, I’m surprised…

Also Jeremy was asked a few months back to build a second speaker cabinet for Zia from the Dandy Warhols. 1×15″, 4×10″, 2xTweeters. This thing sounds absolutely insane for synthesizers. She couples it with either a 400 or 800 watt Galien Kruger amp. They decided to ship one off to Europe and keep one here, so that wherever they are touring, she’s got her cab. Her and Jeremy designed the look, size, speakers, and everything else about it. Truly custom… also I think there’s a bottle opener that gets attached to the top corner…
Lots of new tubes in stock and a broken digital camera!
10.13.08
Well, last week the lens on my digital camera decided to lock up and now I can’t post pictures! I’ll remedy this in a few weeks, but until then I’ll try and snap a few shots of what I’m up to with Brian Watson’s digital camera. Speaking of, our resident guitar swami is in the middle of building a custom acoustic guitar for himself… From scratch! I’ll get him to toss me some pictures when it gets done.
Tubes! Right now Soursound is spending the next month trying to expand our selection of tubes. We’re still going to stick to our guns about only carrying tubes that we’d use in our own equipment, but I think people will be very excited to see all the new additions to our tube case. Right now we’ve got some decent stock of Tung-Sol Reissue 12AX7’s, 6V6’s, and 5881’s. These tubes are some of the best sounding tubes being made right now (in my opinion). We’ll have plenty of new old stock tubes as well! Also we’ll be selling some “as new” old stock tubes, which will be tested and verified tubes that may be slightly used or white-boxed.
Finally good preamp tubes will be available to people who can’t afford the high (and sometimes insane) prices of NOS tubes. So far I’ve gotten through a lot of RCA 7025s and 12AX7s… And a bunch of different 6V6s.
